Nigeria on Sunday recorded five hundred and twenty one new Covid-19 infections taking total confirmed cases to one hundred and fifty two thousand and seventy four (152, 074).
Data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control released on Sunday night showed that nineteen states and the Federal Capital Territory recorded fresh cases.
Lagos had the highest number of one hundred and sixty six (166) followed by Ogun with fifty two (52) cases. Further breakdown showed Rivers with forty seven (47), Adamawa and Ebonyi-37 each, Akwa Ibom-25, Osun-21, Bayelsa-18, Kaduna-17 and Oyo-16.
Others are; FCT-15, Ekiti-14, Kano and Edo-12 each, Borno-9, Yobe-8, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-4, Bauchi-2, Kwara-3.
A total of six hundred and fourteen (614) cases were discharged on Sunday including two hundred and twenty eight (228) community recoveries in Lagos and forty three (43) from Kwara, all managed in line with the guidelines according to the NCDC. The total number of successfully treated and discharged cases is now one hundred and twenty eight thousand, six hundred and nineteen (128, 619). Eight new deaths were recorded on Sunday taking total Covid fatalities to one thousand, eight hundred and thirty nine (1, 839).
