President Muhammadu buhari on Thursday met with governors from the Northcentral and Northwestern parts of the country in furtherance of his strategic engagement with stakeholders towards addressing critical national issues.
The meeting centred on the challenges of security in the country.
At the meeting held behind closed doors were the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, Bello Muhammed Matawalle of Zamfara State, Nasir Ahmed El Rufai of Kaduna State and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state
Also in attendance were the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state
The governors narrated their experiences, individual efforts at finding lasting solutions as well as expectations from the federal government.
The Chairman, Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalaong who spoke to Journalists on behalf of the delegation described the meeting as fruitful and reassuring.
The governors engagement with the President lasted for one and a half hours.
