DEFECTION: PDP REPLIES KOGI GOVERNOR

The peoples Democratic Party has lambasted the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello over his comment in the media that nine more governors will defect from the party to the ruling All Progressives Congress apart from the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi who just joined the party.

Bello had said some PDP governors were already knocking on the doors of the APC and claimed that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, will be the last to join the ruling party.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan who briefed journalists in Abuja on Friday questioned Bello on the attractiveness of the APC and dismissed his claim.

Ologbondiyan said Nigeria’s electoral  fraud can only be tackled if there is an improvement on existing laws and close monitoring of the implementation.

He said the party will soon implement its electronic membership registration beginning from the first quarter of 2021 in line with the planned Independent National Electoral Commission’s electronic voting ahead of the 2023 general elections.
