JUST IN: COURT ORDERS ALI NDUME’S REMAND OVER INABILITY TO PRODUCE MAINA

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the remand of Senator Ali Ndume in custody for failure to produce former Chairmanof the Pension Reform Task Force, Abdulrasheed Maina in court.

Ndume is standing as surety for Maina who has jumped bail in his trial over allegations of money laundering to the tune of N2 billion.

Justice Okong Abang ordered that Ndume be remanded in prison until he is either able to produce Maina or sell the N500 million property in Asokoro, Abuja, used as the guarantee for bail bond and tender evidence of the payment of the proceeds of the sale into the Federation Account.
