Nigeria on Thursday recorded seven hundred and eight (708) new cases of Covid-19, a rise in its daily figure that had been below half a million in the last weeks.
Data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control released on Thursday night showed that total confirmed figure of Covid-19 in the country is now one hundred and fifty seven thousand, six hundred and seventy one (157, 671).
The breakdown of the latest data showed that twenty states and the Federal Capital Territory recorded new infections with Adamawa having the highest number-180.
Lagos followed with one hundred and forty one (141), Ondo-60, Anambra-54, Rivers-41, Taraba-33, Edo-30, Abia and Kaduna-22 each while the FCT recorded twenty one (21).
Others are; Akwa Ibom and Kano-20 each, Plateau-11, Ekiti, Kebbi and Nasarawa-10 each, Bayelsa-7, Ogun, Osun and Oyo-5 each while Gombe recorded one (1).
Five hundred and four patients who fully recovered from the disease were discharged from various treatment centres on Thursday taking the total successfully treated and discharged to one hundred and thirty six thousand, three hundred and thirty five (136, 335). Twelve new deaths were also recorded in the last twenty four hours. The total Covid fatality in Nigeria is now one thousand, nine hundred and fifty one (1, 951).
